Happy Thanksgiving, 2020!

1 min read

What a great and terrible year. During these hard times, I have found that staying grateful is even more important than ever. Happily, I have some really big things to be thankful for.

  • My son.
  • Our first home.
  • The relative health of my family and friends. Some of them currently have COVID-19, and my thoughts are with them for a mild course of the virus and a swift recovery.
  • My job, when so many are facing economic uncertainty.
  • Good food to enjoy this Thanksgiving, courtesy my husband, the excellent chef.
  • Trump out of office. America has a lot of housecleaning to do, but that is one less threat to our democracy.
  • You, dear reader.

It’s been one of the most difficult years of my life. Many people share that sentiment. I think there is light ahead of us, now that we’ve got a few promising vaccines (and yeah, you should get it, when it’s available).

I hope that whatever challenges you are facing, you find things to be thankful for. Stay hopeful, stay vigilant, stay six feet apart.

  1. It’s good to find those things and remind ourselves of our good fortunes, even in the midst of struggles. We will persevere….
