What a great and terrible year. During these hard times, I have found that staying grateful is even more important than ever. Happily, I have some really big things to be thankful for.
- My son.
- Our first home.
- The relative health of my family and friends. Some of them currently have COVID-19, and my thoughts are with them for a mild course of the virus and a swift recovery.
- My job, when so many are facing economic uncertainty.
- Good food to enjoy this Thanksgiving, courtesy my husband, the excellent chef.
- Trump out of office. America has a lot of housecleaning to do, but that is one less threat to our democracy.
- You, dear reader.
It’s been one of the most difficult years of my life. Many people share that sentiment. I think there is light ahead of us, now that we’ve got a few promising vaccines (and yeah, you should get it, when it’s available).
I hope that whatever challenges you are facing, you find things to be thankful for. Stay hopeful, stay vigilant, stay six feet apart.
